I registerred a website through Vistaprint and pointed it to a domain I allready own, when I wanted to edit the website on Vistaprint I could not find the "edit" button under my products.(It is still there but it still does not have a "edit" button) Then I orderred another website and build it to what I wanted, now I want to point this new website to the original domain that I own but it keeps on telling me that the domain is allready owned by someone else, that someone else is me. What do I do now?

I do not want to move the name servers for my domain to Vistaprint. I can however point www.mydomainname.com to an IP address.

I don't see an option for externally hosted domains. How do I do this?

Roberto, is this resolved? Or are you still needing to do this? I ask because I was able to successfully accomplish this and I'd be glad to share how.

I have done this and dotster.com redirected 3 of my urls successfully when I first built my website.

I have asked them to redirect (using the same code) my other url Vundies.com but it redirects to vistaprint.com not to my website adaptamart.com hosted by vistaprint. Dotster says this is a vistaprint issue. How do I get vistaprint to fix it?

    Hello,

I've had a website for awhile at webs.com and have a registered domain name for the site. However I'd like to stop using the Webs and use the Vistaprint website I've created instead. How do I get the new version from Vistaprint to show up on my previous domain name?

I have an EPP Key, but don't know where to send it to?
    Help would be greatly appreciated.

I already have a domain name I purchased with another company. I would like to use it for the site I am building with Vista Print. How do I use it/ link it?

Sirena, forgive me for asking a dumb question, but did you already purchase the web hosting product from VistaPrint? If so, how long did you wait after purchasing before you looked under your website dashboard? It might take some time after purchasing before it's available. Also, which URL are you on when you look for it?

What IP address should I use on my DNS server A records to point a domain to vistaprint? One of the nameservers listed above?

Or how can I add an MX record on vistaprint?

I want to just add DNS entry rows for www and @ (A) and keep the MX row as is.

Alas no. Tried a few IPs i found associated with vista but no luck.

Be nice if support actually read my question before blindly merging it into this topic that does not answer my question.

So how many articles circle back to this article? Is it possible to simply point the www or @ A Records from external registered domain(like at Network Solutions or GoDaddy) to an IP address on your servers? I have no interest in using your Name Servers since I have several settings for my domain working fine.

Has anyone had a response from Vista Print on this? Just got off the phone with customer support and they say I must use their nameservers in order to show my vistaprint website properly.

Our issue is we want to use a different email provider and set the MX records separately.

Carol, as a network engineer with 16 years' experience in helping customers with their DNS, I was shocked when I worked for over an hour with Vistaprint support to discover that they truly don't allow for ME records to be pointed elsewhere. They insist that for their website to work, your domain host needs to point to Vistaprint's DNS servers, not point a host record or a CNAME. Also, Vistaprint does not allow you (or them) to modify the MY records on their own servers. They simply don't offer it. I'm disappointed in them. Because of this, I am working to move my website away from them so I can host my mail elsewhere.
      Hope that is helpful.

To point a domain you already own at your Vistaprint
    website, use the process below.

1-Contact your Internet Service Provider or Domain Name
Registrar to point your domain name to the Vistaprint Domain Name Servers. In
most cases, this can be done online. You will be asked to provide the
Vistaprint Domain Name Server information listed here.

    Nameserver: ns2.vpweb.com , IP Address:72.38.236.15

    Nameserver: ns3.vpweb.com , IP Address: 69.17.223.103

    Nameserver: ns4.vpweb.com, IP Address: 193.79.25.214

2- Allow 24-48 hours for your domain pointing to become
    active

    3- Log on to www.vistprint.com

4- Click My Account then My Services

5- On the left nav click Website Dashboard

6- On the Website Dashboard in the content area, click
    Domain Name Options

7- Click the radio button next to Use a Domain You Already
    Own

8- Enter the domain name that you currently own and would
like to point at your Vistaprint website

      Hi Ryan

Did you actually read any of the comments above. Some of Vista Print's customers want to use their own DNS servers and point their www to VP. If you want them to delegate their entire domain then you need to have the option for them to modify their own DNS records, ie.. for hosted email services etc... Does anybody at VP understand this basic functionality????

      Hi Trent,

I'm sorry to advise that we don't currently have the capability to allow customers to be able to manage or modify their DNS records,  ie. their MX records to allow hosting of their website with us while their emails are hosted by another host.

At present if customer is hosting their website and having their domain name pointed all the servers will point to Vistaprint. I must admit that this function is something customers have been requesting and I've shared this request with our team for consideration.

If it still can't be done it will cause me to move everything and likely look for an alternative for my printed collateral as well. It's ludicrous really.
